OK so this is just strange. I'll try to describe the issue as concisely as possible. Earlier tonight I was doing several things at once on the PC (admittedly more than the machine truly has the power for) and it either froze or I got overly impatient (likely the latter) and as I was attempting to bring up the task manager, I could see Windows Explorer and/or Windowblinds crashing and then restarting--three or four times maybe--and then all the Windowblinds skinning was just gone, instantly back to Windows 10 default themes.
Got the machine rebooted and spent the next few hours cleaning clutter from drives, uninstalling useless and obsolete software that was doing nothing but bogging things down--the usual things we do in this situation. And then it occurred to me that Windowblinds hadn't re-loaded at reboot, and by then there had been several. Start 10 continued to work fine.
So I launched Windowblinds via the start menu, and once it loaded, it gave me an "Expired License" popup. Hmm. I entered my information, clicked activate, and voila--Activation Successful. Clicked "Finish," and poof--Windowblinds closed. Relaunched it, same popup, same results. Logged into Stardock to verify my credentials and that my Object Desktop infinite subscription hadn't gotten a decline on a credit card, etc. Nope, everything peachy. As long I was here, I copied the product key itself (I had been using the Stardock ID method). Entered it, clicked activate...success...click finish.....buhbye.
Grumbles a few choice words, kicked the trash can and did a thorough uninstall via third party uninstaller which does deep registry cleaning following the standard uninstaller.
Reboot.
Download fresh copy of WB10.
Install.
Launch.
Activate.
Click finish...<crickets>
Yup, still crashes.
I'm running a deep scan with Malwarebytes at the moment because I noticed when launching my VPN client....it's forgotten the product key. It seems to be remembering it now, but we'll see what happens at reboot.
ANYONE????
