I want to create a Windows To Go drive. I can't do it legally, because it requires Enterprise version of Windows which is only available to volume licensing.
There are many bad quality programs on the Internet that let you create “Windows To Go” from any Windows version. But it's not the real deal. You can install Windows 8/10 to an external drive and it will be pretty portable, but it's not Windows To Go.
I have found one detailed tutorial on how to create a “real” Windows To Go drive. It probably works but it's a lot of work that I don't feel like doing right now.
If MS would sell USB connected SSDs with Windows To Go I think they could sell a few of those. Having a portable OS is pretty awesome. Works for almost anything including gaming (with a few adjustments).
I want my software and my data in my pocket. Phones cannot run desktop software and don't offer a lot of storage. Intel Compute Stick is still too weak. I think MS should offer Windows To Go to the masses (of geeks).
