This has been discussed over and over and over and over and over... on this site.
The reason it looks like there are a lot of Master Skins for sale is because many skins by myself and vStyler are being updated to run properly on Windows 10. There are not that many newly submitted skins for sale. Out of the last 27 WB skins submitted to the site, 12 are older Master Skin updates to Windows 10, 8 are new Master Skins, and 7 are free skins. So if you disregard the older skin updates, the percentage is about 50/50 on WB skins being submitted, which in my opinion is exactly how it should be. My last two new skins submitted were one free and one Master Skin, all of vStyler's skins are merely updates for Windows 10 use.
The Master Skinner does not make much on their skins, but yes, no skins should be priced over $6.95 I would think. You must also realize that Stardock takes around 35% of the sale, and WinCustomize subscriber discounts also come into play. So a skin selling at $6.95 means that the Master Skinner gets about $4.52, and if a WinCustomize subscriber discount comes into play, even less.
Master Skins take a HUGE amount of time to create. Mine on average take about 40 hours, some a lot more, so if I sell a skin at $6.95, and get my $4.52 after Stardock fees, I make about 11 cents an hour. Also, many Master Skinner's do this so they can make money to live on, like myself, so please be kind.
Basically, this type of thread has become a moot point here, please let it die. Master Skinner's have earned the right to sell their work.
Oh, and just so you know, there are only about 10 people actively creating Windowblinds skins on the site, Of those 10, 8 are Master Skinner's, and of those 8 only about maybe 3 of them are still offering free skins also.
I feel that for every 2 Master Skins submitted, a Master Skinner should submit a free one.
