Life (and therefore, death) are miracles...
Odd that in English we say, "The spark of life". Well, now you can actually see it. The moment of (simulated) fertilization and the spark, in the linked article. Human sperm were not used as that would be illegal. The phenomenon was induced chemically, but this is what happens when egg and sperm meet in anilals and in this experiment. If that player doesn't work, there's a youtube link below. It was developed to help choose the most viable zygotes for in vitro fertilization (IVF).
No actual fertilization occurs in this experiment. No life is destroyed. Also, a bit of semantics: Life does not 'begin' at fertilization. It continues at the moment of fertilization if and only if the zygote develops into a fetus.
