Kona....no, that's an absurd statement....'perfected it'?
Aston wasn't interested in continuing a development for your Yank-tanks...they were busy perfecting their own projects....even IF they are now part of FOMOCO, as is Jaguar.
The US solution to power and performance is to plonk a bigger cast-iron donk in the front, pump up the Koni's and chuck on fatter rubber.....hardly sophisticated technical development...

I think back to 1986....when I had a Brabham BMW suspended over my head on a crane.....drive-train drag just ticking over the wheels as Warrick wanted us to put him back on the circuit as he still had the engine running....and I looked up at my unique view of an F1 car thinking....'one and a half litres......the same size as a Corolla....except it has 1200 horsepower.'
And not one of those 'things' that farts down the quarter mile ...like freeway racing without corners....but a fair-dinkum car that stops, goes AND steers.
Reciprocating 'vee' engines capable of 18,500 rpm for hours at a time...gear changes once every 2 second for 2 hours.
Then I look at a Dodge Viper......put a tandem axle on it and you might be able to support a bigger motor than 8 litres.....why not just pull the donk out of a Louisville?...
BTW...your new GTO, thanks to the Aussie Holden is called a Monaro here.....Aboriginal for 'woman's breast'.
You would have thought 'penis substitute' would be more apt...
