Pua.Conduit.Searchprotect

Maleware

I tried to install CursorFX. I downloaded it via your website, which pointed me to Download.com. Upon installing, Webroot SecureAnywhere reported Maleware, specifically Pua.Conduit.Searchprotect. Please advise!

LittleSp3rling ...I just downloaded it from Download.com and Kaspersky didn't panic....ergo you're getting what's called a 'false positive'.

It's safe to ignore...and perhaps look for a better AV program...

You can, but you don't actually need to.

You're not the first to be hit with a false positive...much to Stardock's disgust.  AV software companies should be made accountable for defamatory [and wrong] reports.

Even an apology would be nice.

Webroot SecureAnywhere, Norton Internet Security, McAfee, etc. are nothing but junk software LittleSp3rling. Believe me, I have been using Stardock's products for over 10 years, there are no viruses/malware/trojans, etc. in any of their products. Like Jafo said, ypou need to get a good anti-virus program. Why people just don't use Microsoft Security Essentials (also known as Windows Defender in WIndows 10). I have been using it since its inception and have never had anything infest my system. Best thing is, it's FREE!

So is AVG and Avira. Both are very good at stopping malware and don't flag any Stardock product as offensive. I'm running CursorFX and it installed with no problem.

Checked out several reviews of dr web. Seems it has a history of false positives. Google it and you'll see.
