For the skeleton one I guess they program it to do it that way so they can also use it as a teaching tool. Good stuff.

Looks alot better then US's Predator suit. Which was full transparent with the outline.

Problem - What if a person gets the thought in their head to start stealing or like Hollow man was. Some technology is just scary in the wrong hands.

Yes but I would love to be in a plane with a transparent floor. I also like the idea also where it would be useful for surgeons.

As long as there was that green outline.. Because if it was totally invisible,, they can't see what they are doing.. And oops, there goes something

The plane would be interesting to see.. Freak alot of people out also if they could see it.

I grabbed a few of the vids and it all looks very cool.
Couldn't figure out though, why when the guy is moving the ball and the rectangle in front of his face we see what's behind his head, and not actually see the front of his face through the objects.

I had a look at their diagram (I use that ter loosely) illustrating how it all works, but it was crap.
I'm stll stumped...

Smoke & mirrors. Magic tricks.

"The photograph was taken through a viewfinder that uses a combination of moving images taken behind the wearer to give a transparent effect" = smoke & mirrors, another camera and a projector to give the "illusion" of transparency.

To quickly sum it up; it's basically a device projecting the bookcase 'background' onto a certain colour (in this case I think it was green), and only within the actual viewscreen that we see the movie on.

So only the green objects in the scene are projected onto (brick, ball, coat etc...) - think along the same lines as a bluescreen used for movie effects accept it's a little more advanced and can project where it wants therefore giving the illusion that you can 'see' through it. This is why when the guy was moving the brick it didn't show his head behind it, only the bookcase.

Well... that's essentially what I got from reading the site and looking at the diagrams. It's a very long way off being anything close to an invisibility 'device'... but it's a nice idea.

they have to work it into an active cloaking cloth were it actually captures real time 360 degrees and displays real time 360 degrees.

But it is a very good representation of the concept all the same, which is a good thing when looking for funding and PR.
