I love Fences- but I don't get how to position individual icons inside their fences! Isn't there some setting where I can move them into the exact placement I want?

If you right click within a fence and go to 'settings' there are options for sorting your icons by various options.
However.....
The 'science' of Fencing is that the icons will be 'corralled' within the Fence not locked into an absolute address [as you might see in a default desktop without Fences]. What that means is that when a Fence boundary moves/changes size the icons will re-order themselves to stay within the Fence no matter what size or shape....
