Thanks for your input Mr Werewolf. Did you "prune" just as a regular part of routine "good housekeeping", or do you feel that the wb folder can, in fact, become over-full and start to affect performance?

Mr Werewolf - you may be right with the "psychological" aspect! In fact, many would say this word describes me perfectly: sometimes "psycho", sometimes "logical"!

I routinely winnow down the number on my machine. I like to change up the skin at least once a day or more. I will remove the ones that I haven't used for some time unless I know I will use it again.

I am anal-rentive about the space used on my hard drive. I hate to see less the 1GB free. But as to the original question, can the WB folder get to full and affect performance? I think MikeB hit it on the head. The more you have the longer it takes for the Properties window, and Appearence tab to display.
Plus it is my anal-retentive belief that less space on the hard drive degrades performance. But that part is also probably psycho-logical.

I hope that I haven't confused or put anyone to sleep.

Never thought to count. Over the years have downloaded hundreds. Like to change em up! 368 on hard drive now. Guess I need to clean up but will never get rid of any. A lot are backed up on CDs. No wonder it takes forever to load display properties. Didn't know that. Another crease in the old grey matter.

But now we've uncovered a new phenomenon: "Download Red-face Syndrome"!! Several of you have shown "embarrassment" at the quantity of skins you've downloaded. Strange, isn't it? After all the entire point is to either upload or download good lookin' skins! It's not as if it's "naughty" or anything.

I actually only use four skins for ODNet products...
Then Hoverdesk, WinStep and Aston all of which I have also bought...

personally the two I stick with the most is VGreen, ONX and then Colony or
Coperdesk II, if I have anything loaded at all.

VGreen has been ported to ported to HD, WS and looking for it in Aston

Gosh..I am slow getting started, I only count 8 but with Win 95 I have had some problems with a few skins so I'm sticking with the ones that work. I'm more into WALLs, so many talented people.

In my case I guess it is really a twinge of guilt when one reads posts from the trolls, I'd hate to consider myself a bandwidth hog.
In my defense (excuses.....excuses!) my backups go to the old days when we had several sites to choose from and WB was in the #1 stages of development.
