If 'art' involves spatial relationships, eg, sculpture and Architecture to name to 'specific' examples, then generally you will find an inordinately high proportion will be male.
It's physiological....male and female brain development is different, eg, women will recover speech more easily following a stroke than men will.
Part of the brain 'hemisphere' devoted to creativity and spatial cognitive ability in a male functions as a back-up language skill centre in women, hence their stroke-recovery, and less-commonly becoming Architects.
This isn't a hard and fast 'rule', just a tendency....but it could even explain the lack of success in Motor Racing for women...
A lot of things are taken for granted....if a child is under about 10, he should NOT ride a bicycle in traffic....his brain has yet to develop an understanding of speed and distance and cannot 'judge' either.
Remember that bit when you're buying your children bicycles...
