Today, i waked up with 5 e-mails noticing about a rip of my icons.
The ripper is mr Deggy, the webmaster of OSXP.NET.
He uploaded a iconset called Funky, using my icons and Hein icons, in two places:
-In their website, www.osxp.net , writing he (osxp) created the icons.
-In Resexcellence, www.resexcellence.com , here the direct download: http://www.resexcellence.com/archive_icons_01/downloads/12-30-02_Funky1Folder.sit
Actually the Noia icons are under GPL. This means everybody can use, modify and distribute the icons without request permission for it. But, it must: Post the GPL text (with the GPL explanation), write the modifications done, post credit to the original author and any other author ho made previous changes. He (mr Deggy) don't did any of these things. Sometimes, the new uploader don't like to post the GPL text file, but it always request permission to the original author, and post full credits to he/she (Name, and web adress where can be obtained the original icons); i guess this is the case of ObjectDock using the Eeveraldo's icons, and i think this is very correct (let me know if i'm wrong about the use of Eeveraldo's icons, Brad, i don't wish to make a big mistake).
Mr Deggy never solicited permission, and he posted a Readme.rtf file in the download that contains: 'Additional icons constructed on the original Noia ones to add many apps. Please credit the original author'
My name is not 'the original author'. My name is Carles Carbonell, or Carlitus, and my website is www.carlitus.net. In adition, this message have implicit the mr Degg sense of responsability about the work of others.
This is not the first time the Noia icons are ripped, but YES the most WRONG. Specially, comming from OSX!!!!
