So I took the Praxis over a month ago... for those of you that don't know, the Praxis is a test that is required of all education students in Iowa... if not everywhere... basically, the Praxis is another way for someone to make money... each section of the test costs something like $30 with a $35 registration fee. Yeah, like college students can easily afford that on top of their tuition... Anyhow, per normal for me, I passed the reading and writing sections with flying colors, and missed passing the math section by a point... I guess I had better prepare a little better for the next time. But this, this is not my point. My point here is that I cannot complete some math problems, so what. I don't think this means that I am unqualified to teach kindergarteners, do you? I have taken a few education classes here at Cornell, and recieved and "A" in each of them... I think that the work completed in these classes better judges my ability to one day become a qualified educator, but nope, now we have a standardized math test to test this...
In sum, I think that the Praxis is a HORRIBLE idea... and for the record, I thought so before I didn't pass the math section...
