Hi,
I,ve got the same issue,(not anymore by the way)
When u search on this problem, on the internet they talk about virusses relating to this issue, But whats different is that they are all talking about the normal explorer.exe using too much cpu. That is a whole other issue, and not that uncommon because explorer is an important part of windows, so there are lots of other problems corresponding with it.
I get an extra explorer process that generates a cpu "standard" usage of 25%, if i'll open another explorer window then it will use also 25%.( add,s up to 50% and so on!)
Having this problem for days, i searched for answers, untlil i went to task manager and went to source control inside performance. There was the normal explorer(.exe) with 59 threads and 0 cpu usage. That's normal!
The extra explorer using 25 % was also there, having 1 thread??Strange?? So i looked at the sources and deskscapes was mentioned like 6 times. So i tried to shut down deskscapes, what did not work. Because i doesn,t shut down it puts itself on hold, i knew because it was still mentioned in the source .
So i completely removed it from my PC, and there it was, finally i found the problem, Deskscapes was being funny. Not Funny!
So it is not a Qeustion if deskscapes is the culprit, it is a fact! Now i can open a dozen, explorer windows and there will be no extra explorer.exe mentioned in the taskmanager!
I don't know how long this was going on, because i never use explorer-windows, the problem doesn't happen if you go to your files via, "name" or computer or directly like going to documents via the start menu.
In the beginning i was very positive about the stardock products, but i only found out about this because object dock was not workin properly, so i could not get in to my folders the proper way and had to use explorer.
So i will try to get stardock some feedback,
Sincearly
