After four months of on again off again calls to Assurance wireless I finally got my phone. Its a tiny thing, no big screen, no smart anything. A no frills type you get courtesy of Uncle Sam (good for some things I guess). Anyway, I get 250 free minutes a month plus text and, if I want, I can add to it by simply buying a prepaid card from $5.00 to $30.00. This for me is a godsend because using the number where I hang out during the day has become somewhat of a nuisance and its needed so that my case worker can get in touch with me should it become necessary. Not to mention a close friend of mine, who I 'adopted' kinda sorta. I've known her since she was eighteen and homeless. Now she's married with a precocious two year old named Violet with another on the way. Has her own place and is doing quite well. Sometimes...life is good.
