2.10 Windows 7 Drag and Drop issue

ok so in the past (like when objectdock first was released) i was able to drag shortcuts/icons from my desktop to objectdock.  


now bare in mind i haven't used it in about 6 years.  


the only way i can add shortcuts to the bar is to manually add them where as in the past i could just add a new shortcut to the dock via drag from location and poof its there 

is this now how it is 


any help is greatly appreciated

yes 

 

i asked customer support and that was the only thing they told me to do and i haven't heard anything back

 

i have reset, uninstalled and re-installed, and reboot a total of 5 times

He may be using a 64 bit OS (win 7 x64), years ago, windows xp was on purchased computer was  only 32 bit, which is why it worked for him 6 years ago. Now he may have to use the now standard recipe of:

browse to the programs folder, and drag the exe for the program to the dock to make the shortcuts work.


just my thoughts on this

so i have been in contact with support for almost a week, have tried everything that they have suggested and still nothing.

 

i still can't drag a shortcut/icon from my start menu/desktop to my dock.

 

just so you all know i am running windows 7 ultimate x64 sp1 and have the 64-bit version of ObjectDock version 2.10.0.811

This is what works for me. Go to the programs folder, locate the .exe, right click on it and choose send to...it creates a shortcut on the desktop and that one you should be able to drag to the dock. Once on the dock click it to make sure it works then delete the one on your screen. BTW...I also have Win 7 64 bit SP1

Same problem here, with me about 30% of the working program shortcuts would not drag and drop successfully. After dragging,I had to go to properties of the broken link( a question mark), redo the shortcut and configure an icon off a picture I downloaded.

A time consuming inconvenience.

 

Win 7 64bit

On the off chance. Right click on the taskbar, properties, start menu tab, customize, and be sure drag and drop is enabled as per screenshot.

I just disabled it and wasn't able to drag and drop. Enabled, I can.

My taskbar enable context menus and dragging and dropping was already checked.

I received a reply from tech support:( thanks to them for the prompt reply)

 

Hello,

'About 30% of the program links I drag from my desk top to Object Dock don't work. I get a question mark and I have to relink it in properties'

If they are links to 64 bit apps, this is a known issue. A fix will be release soon for the issue.

Please let us know if you should have any further questions/concerns.
