Anne, sorry for your negative experience.
Before re-installing, did you use anything like CCleaner or Revo uninstaller to clean out any bits or pieces (like registry entries)?
Frequently that's all that's really needed (though I'm not a Support person).
Perhaps you should take this opportunity (bearing in mind it's Friday and you might not get an actual person answering until Monday or Tuesday) to write to Stardock Support ( support@stardock.com ).
Don't answer the 'auto-reply' as it will kick you to the back of the queue. Keep the reply as it has your ticket number.
Also, you might refer to this thread's url in your request for help.
