I use deskscapes on my HTPC to my TV and it just looks beautiful.
I'm also an avid 3D movie lover and use PowerDVD 12 and 13 to play 3D MKV's. I have Deskscapes set to pause playback when there's a desktop application that is maximized, however for some reason Deskscapes doesn't recognize PowerDVD as a full screen application and doesn't pause. (I can still see the dream moving through the opacity in the taskbar)
I don't mind from a performance standpoint if it continues to run. The problem is that when the video tries to switch into sending a 3D signal, it keeps turning 3D on and off; the only way to kill this is to force quit the application, and then I find that the taskbar is reloaded (as if explorer.exe had been restarted) and that my desktop now shows a strange low-res red image (not my dream or any previous wallpapers). I've found that pausing deskscapes manually before running a 3D video will prevent any of this from happening.
What's odd though, is that these two programs used to work fine together. I had a malware infestation on my computer and decided to start over and now I have this problem. I used to play 3D movies all the time, and could even minimize the movie that was playing and actually see the animated dream on my desktop in 3D as well. I don't know what the state of full screen pausing was in my previous installation, but I had set up everything just the same this time.
Anybody use deskscapes in conjuction with 3D video output? Is it possible to somehow force deskscapes to recognize PowerDVD as fullscreen?
