Thanks to Hippy!!
John: how do i make compund skins for wb?
Mark Van Dam: T'is easy. How many variations will you be having in it?
John: three
Mark Van Dam: Right, what you'll need is your original skin as uis. the other two variations will each have their own uis files, but rename these with an .sss extension.
Mark Van Dam: Then:
Mark Van Dam: Create a textfile in notepad and type in the following:
Mark Van Dam: [Skinstyles]
Number=3
Mark Van Dam: [Skinstyle0]
Name=SkinName (This will be your original one in uis format )
Skin=skinname.UIS
Mark Van Dam: Where 'skinname' will be the name of the skin. The 'name' line is what will appear in the drop down box in WB
John: uh huh
Mark Van Dam: [Skinstyle2]
Name=SkinName2
Skin=skinname.SSS
Mark Van Dam: [Skinstyle3]
Name=SkinName3 Skin=skinname.SSS
Mark Van Dam: Then name this file with an .ssd extension The filename should best be the name of the skin
Mark Van Dam: so it'd prolly be Chosen_OS.ssd or whatever
Mark Van Dam: And that's it.
John: is there a [Skinstyle1]
John: I just noticed you done 0 - the original, then 2 and 3
Mark Van Dam: Oops, yeah. The numbers start at 0. So for 3 skins, it'd be 0,1,2
John: k
Mark Van Dam: sorry
John: np, lemme read it over again
Mark Van Dam: Anyhoo, it's much easier than it sounds
Mark Van Dam: All you're doing is renaming 2 uis and creating the ssd
John: ok, so I make the other skins, then rename the uis to .sss
Mark Van Dam: yep
John: put thenm in the original folder?
John: and all the bmps
John: make the text file
John: and name the text file chosenOS.ssd
Mark Van Dam: What I do is make 2 copies of the original uis, rename them to whatever they should be and move them to the folder. Then open them in Skinstudio, and make the corrct changes to the variation skins
John: and put this in the folder as well
Mark Van Dam: That's if the skins have subtle variations of course
Mark Van Dam: Oh, yep. To whatt you said.
Mark Van Dam: In the end, you'll have one folder called ChosenOS.
In that will be all the bmps, plus 2 .sss files, one uis and an ssd
John: k, that sounds cooln with the uis file
