I have a question concerning the availability of DesktopX in the store as well as in SDC.
I sometimes get contacted by DX users that they can no longer access the DX 4.0 (3.96) beta in their accounts or on SDC.
Although their subscriptions are still active.
It's not in my account and I have been actively subscribed since day one. And my current sub is good through 2016. Thank goodness I have it archived.
DesktopX Pro 3.5 IS available in both SDC and my account, but it is completely broken and will not run anything scripted. David Roman and I, and a few others have confirmed this several times in several threads. I fail to understand why the broken software is still available and the working isn't. This is sure to make noobs think SD software sucks.
I have spoken to Brad about this and he said he'd have it looked at. It's still there, still doesn't work.
Anyway, back to the point at hand. I have users ask me why the DX 4.0 isn't available anymore when they need to reinstall or have had a PC failure, etc.
It is my opinion that the bad software should be made unavailable, and the good version be made available.
The ability to have access to software we paid for is the whole purpose of a subscription. Can Stardock please make the software available?
