I didn't like the movie very much, it left me with a bad feeling.
The special effects were awesome of course and everything was decent.
But it reminded me more of a matrix movie than superman. Gloomy, dark.
And I don't like the recent attempts in movies to make heroes more "normal". Like in star trek, wolverine, james bond... come on people! They're (super)heroes!
And there's that example of the Walking Dead ... my god was that awful... trying to make zombie films more "believable". They aren't. They're supposed to be funny or imaginative and not turned into some soap.
But maybe it's just an attempt of the movie-makers to reach a larger audience.
And what I also didn't like, was the attempt to make superman even more special. He's one of a kind on the Earth, now he's also made something unique on his own planet. Even though he's already the only Kryptonian that survived. I think that's just artificial and way over the top.
The enemies in this movie weren't funny at all.
I also didn't like how superman associated with the army so much.
And I also agree with one of the earlier posters that this remake is just one too many, it's really tiresome to have to go through so many alternative universes again and again. X-men, and now superman. What's the point of all of that. There's so many stories that one can imagine, why the hell would you want to start all over again??? You can just as well create a new superhero while you're at it.
Or well... maybe I shouldn't think too much of it ... because the 1st superman movie was made about 40 years ago
So in a way it was about time for a remake... but a remake like this... I dunno, it's a bit over the top, all of it.
but I saw World War Z the following day and thought it was a better movie in a lot of ways. It's intense and breathless for around 40 minutes. It slows down a little after that, but is still very, very good!
I agree with this.
