I have recently installed Deskscapes 8 from the Stardock Central application after purchasing it as a stand alone product. Much like the previous versions, I like it quite a bit, but unfortunately I find I cannot use the peek utility in Windows 8 to return to the desktop. I am running Windows 8 Pro with Media Center (64-bit), and utilize a dual Radeon 6950 setup with Catalyst version 13.2.
The peek utility, at least as I am using the term, is the ability to right click the right lower corner of the screen to return to desktop.
From what I can tell, when I have the Deskscape set to configure:
1) video dreams (or at least I think they are) - the utility shows the desktop, but without any desktop icons and without an ability to right/left click the desktop. Sadly this constitutes the bulk of available dreams.
2) static wallpaper - the utility does the same thing as above, but the desktop icons and ability to click returns in 1-2 seconds.
3) dynamic dream (or at least I think it is - the exact one I use is Hexcore) - the peek utility works just fine and there is almost no perceptible lag in showing the icons.
4) In any type of wallpaper or dream, if you pause deskscapes, the peek utility again shows the desktop background without icons or right/left click ability.
Has anyone else experience this behavior, and more importantly, would anyone know if its fixable? If the descriptions are unclear, I can try posting a video of the behavior. Thanks!
