Fences 2 problems - other icons randomly selected

Hi,

I have recently installed Fences 2.01. But I’m running into problems with it several times per day. What is happening is that I will select one icon on my desktop and rename it, move it, delete it, etc. and discover that Fences will also rename/move/delete one or more other icons on my desktop. This happens many times per day so I know for sure that I have not accidentally selected other icons. Fences just seems to do it at random.

When I turn off Fences, this behaviour stops happening. But when I turn Fences back on, the behaviour returns. Is anyone else experiencing this? I never ran into this problem with version 1 of Fences.

I have exactly the same problem. For me it most obvious when I create new file directly on the desktop and then it appears that several other files (of different types even) got the same name. Also when moving files (usually it happens when trying to move just one file) some other files are moved between fences. To me it looks like Ctrl key woul dbe pressed during selection. Problem persists since I installed version 2.0.

I've been having these problems too. I renamed a text file that was on the desktop, outside any fences and it also renamed one of my shortcuts( the old republic) to the same name. Then earlier today I deleted an icon from one fence and it was instantly replaced by a shortcut from another fence(it moved, not duplicated). I also regularly have the problem that icons randomly become unattached from their fences.

I am using the latest version of fences as I use stardock central to check for program updates daily and I am running Windows 8 64-bit.

Problems are still persistent today; has this problem been dubbed impossible to resolve, or has it not been attended to yet to focus on other things?

This one is a bit tricky as we have not yet been able to duplicate it here. The last build of Fences addressed a number of issues but this issue persists. If you do not have a support ticket open with us, please download and run the following utility:

This is a tool that we use to gather relevant log files and basic information about your computer. Once the utility finishes running, please send the .zip file it creates on the desktop to support@stardock.com
