How do you create a grid in fireworks?

I have found a bunch of tutorials on this for photoshop and paint shop pro, but NOTHING for fireworks on grid creation. The terminology between the software isn't even similar enough to find something that looks like it will translate.

Anybody have any ideas, or know of a decent fireworks tutorial site?

I guess what I should have said was "Does anyone here USE fireworks? If so, are you aware of graphic-intense tutorial sites, like the thousands for photoshop and paint shop pro, rather than the few corporate ones floating around?"

You know, something like Dangeruss' site and links or something, where the tutorials are not mainstream news, where actual users (aka...US...you and me) are the people that really could use the help...

OK, I figured it out myself...here's a quick tutorial (never done one before, so bear with me)...

- Fire up Fireworks
- File|New
(the below beginning setup is up to you. these are my numbers)
- 20 px height
- 20 px width
- 72 px/inch
- Transparent background
- Zoom in to 600x (unless your eyes are REALLY good)
- Left-click PENCIL tool
(the below are again my settings)
- 1 px
- anti-aliased UNCHECKED
- color set to black (#000000)
- Draw the outline of your frame around the inside edge of your full image
- you should now have a black line in the shape of a square, with a transparent background
- Save As|(call it whatever you want and end it with .png)

Now create whatever you would like to be overlayed with the grid pattern at whatever size you like and then follow below:

- Create a New Bitmap Layer
- Left Click PAINT BUCKET tool
- Change from SOLID to PATTERN
- Left Click the pattern option and from the scroll down options, choose OTHER (the last one)
- navigate to your square you previously created for your grid pattern and choose it
- Fill with your pattern
- Enjoy! You can set transparency to allow the background image to show through just like photoshop and paint shop pro.

ps...you can set the pencil color to anything you want, to get your grid to compliment/contrast your background...

I believe you can probably gradient the grid as well...just not sure how yet
