PDFs show as black squares?

I am new to Fences; just bought it.  I created a Folder Portal and I noticed that a PDF I created was showing up as a black square rather than the Icon.  The next day, all PDFs on my desktop (in various fences) were showing up as black squares?  Any ideas why?

 

My apologies if this has been asked -- I could not see a way to search the Forum,

I solved my problem by refreshing the icon cache.  I would still like to know if there is a way to search these forums?

Yes. At the top right next to all the "Social Site" buttons. The small box with "Looking for something specific?" in it is the search box.
