Hello, I've used a couple of Stardock's applications before, but this was the first time I've used Iconpackager. It has managed to do two things and failed to do another with the simple application of an Icon pack. It couldn't actually replace all my icons, as it left seemingly random files as their original icons and when I tried to restore my Windows defaults before uninstalling the application, it mistakenly assigned certain icons as the new defaults.
My removable disks became a purple/blue drive I hadn't seen before, in both My Computer and the left side menu of an Explorer window, and several different filetypes lost their icons entirely, becoming some sort of red-yellow-green-blue shield icon. What's more, the items on my start menu briefly flash as the aforementioned shield icon before displaying their correct image.
So after I noticed these changes, I uninstalled Iconpackager-- but it didn't end there. They all remained that way of course. So I looked for solutions online, coming across default .reg files and regedit itself, something I had used before, but am unfamiliar with. Replacing .reg files and fiddling around with that did almost if not nothing, so I reinstalled Iconpackager to see if there was something I missed in it's settings menus. To no avail! I can manually change the drives and certain file types back, but it will only affect that single file, not all files of the same type. That also, does not fix the flickering shield icon effect I now have. A system restore to the point before I used Iconpackager is sadly out of the question because I didn't think to create a restore point before trying this and haven't for some time.
I'll supply images of the changes that are still in effect with hopes that the staff or users here can somehow help me revert all this.
