It would be nice to have the possibility to switch from one page to another more quickly than dragging all the desktop pages between them. Perhaps some little menu indicators for desktop pages.

If I have multiple pages and want to switch from page index -2 to page index 5, it would be convenient to just click a button indicator for that page and it will automatically switch from the actual page to the requested page instead of sliding six times the desktop out.

Otherwise, one cool other option would be to create both horizontal pages and vertical pages onto the desktop.
