First, I'd like to complain about the forum search. It appears to be Google based (not really a complaint) but I for the life of me can't find the sort feature and I can't remember the Google shortcut to limit search boundaries. I do a search for the above and I get a good deal of what looks like proper results (yay me) The article dates go 2004, 2009, 2006, 2011, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2010.... Can you see my problem? In order to get the most recent version of Windowblinds and the most current operating system I would like to limit the search to the last two years. I don't remember the code to put into the search to do it. Could there be either "Search Hints" or "Advanced Search" or something an idiot like me can find? If there was I probably wouldn't be writing this.
Anyway, about Windowblinds...
I realized that the critter was not in the tray and probably hadn't been in the last few weeks. I had noticed that my favorite window roll up response was gone right after the Olympics, but I figured it was just the skin I was using as some skins refuse to play that game. So, I whip the program out of hiding in the menu and choose a new skin and click the close bar. No program is seen in the tray. I open it again and tell it minimize and again no program is in the tray but there is a shortcut on the Task Bar. Not what I want. Tried a restart and still no familiar icon where I have had it for several years.
Looking at Task Manager I seem to have the correct number of Stardock programs and don't find anything missing (that I remember) I look at services and there is Windowblinds way down at the bottom of the list and it says "Running". BTW, what are the two Startdock entries that have the word "Vista" in their names? I've always wondered.
So, any hints of what I might have installed that has made Windowblinds mad at me? I haven't been on any type of installing sprees lately and really have been turning off a lot of things to give more responsiveness for playing the beta game I have been running. Maybe I turned off something I shouldn't? I have the paths and command lines showing in Task Manager so that I don't do that knowingly.
