Hi,
I'm running Fences on 2 computers with Windows 7 64 Bit (Professional and Enterprise). The Win 7 Professional installation just runs without any problem.
The Win 7 Enterprise is on a laptop that is member of a Windows domain. I use this laptop on the road (with laptop display), in my office with docking station and 19" external monitor and in my home office with docking station and 24" external monitor and a KVM switch to switch between my private PC and laptop. Fences is configured to store configurations for different screen resolutions.
I get the following error message:
"Fences has detected that its integrety has been compromised. There may be a problem with your Fences installation. It is recommended that you uninstall and reinstall Fences."
under the following circumstances:
- @homeoffice: when I start the laptop in the docking station, I have wait for the login screen because when I select my other PC the laptop will detect a VGA monitor only (640x480) and I need to reboot again. The logon process takes up to 2 minutes so I usually switch to the other PC. This causes fences to fail and present the error message. When I let the laptop finish logon process and don't switch to my other PC fences will just start without a problem.
- @office: same problem if the external monitor is switched off.
- Sometimes the error also pops up without any of the above reasons.
My assumption is that fences tries to detect the screen resolution while starting and if no screen is connected (screen powered off or other PC selected on KVM switch) it will fail starting and present this error message. Unfortunately I didn't find a way to start fences manually afterwards.
Any ideas how to solve this?
Thanks,
Michael
