GO VOTE!!!

Contrary to what most people may think, it's been my experience that in contests that only a couple dozen people actually take the time to vote on contest entries of this nature.

In the GUI Olympics, that means that your vote really does count. And only the top 10 entries are ging to be considered by the judges for medals.

So go to http://www.guiolympics.com and vote!

I noticed that you can vote for your top five. My question is do you have to vote for five or can you vote for less? There might not be five for every catagory.

chichigirl46, you should be able to vote. It's probably a temporary glitch. Sometimes I can't login here at WC, but the problem doesn't last long.

you say glitch? lol the day is almost over and I still can not login..... so NO ONE gets my votes and yes frogboy I have emailed the email address you said too and still can not login and I'm already tired of trying too

chichigirl46: Log onto wincustom; then cross over to gui; then click on the vote icon. Thats all I did and it worked.

Needless to say, I received Pat's email to delete the usaull cookies...... I did not do that, I don't see why I would have to do this since I just got through last week with formatting my hard drive, so I just come from the GUIolympics site and funny thing I was able to login with no problem BUT I only got to vote for "Most Depressing" skin catagory and my time is "central", time only 11:30pm ...... I'm not bitching, angry, just disgusted that the Most Cheerful got cheated out of a vote here

It's definitely annoying I agree. And we definitely need to find out WHY this sort of thing happens because we are using the same system on GalCiv.com and will be using it on other upcoming sites.

On the bright side, your efforts do end up bearing fruit. The problems you had with WindowBlinds were printed out and psoted in the lab and elsewhere. Hopefully you have found 3.2 to be much nicer.

I don't know, I haven't tried Wb 3.2.... will it skin yahoo messenger now?????

I'm getting to think all my computer problems in the last 30 days are from the wblind v2.2 enhanced that I got from you! I have had trouble all night and used the "repair" and then it started loading two wblinds instead of one, causing major Explorer Error and played hell all night to get my computer back up Maybe this is why I could not login, this wblind v 2.2 enchanced don't act like the one I use to have from Object Desktop! You say my problems bare fruit, then why do I just get the seeds

For some reason it appears that a cookie will either become corrupted or have some sort of value that interfers with the logon process. I'm not sure what's happening as it doesn't even do anything with a cookie until after the database query. Unfortunately I haven't been able to spend too much time looking into this problem but deleting the cookie solves the problem 99% of the time.

Anyway, Go Vote. About every two days a new category will be available to vote on.

Thanks for your input T-Man, but cookies was not my problem.... But I would like the answer to what I have asked above, "does wblinds v3.2" SKIN YAHOO messenger now?????? For this is my main concern to get out from underneath this problem wblind version I have? I have been lost my D:/drive etc since this version

All recent versions of WB (including 2.2) have skinned Messenger if you just remove the per application setting for ypager.

Honey I know that..... how do you think I've been skinning yahoo messenger but the wblinds 3.+ will not skin yahoo messenger and it would be nice to just get a straight answer!

Well I guess NO answer means your NOT including yahoo messenger to be skinned anymore, or care to fix why it won't skin it....

Yes I am upset, I don't like ICQ because virus's are spread to easily and can be hacked in this program and I refuse to use it or skin it, since thats the direction I seem to feel I'm being pushed into, after all its the only messenger you have a catagory for

Wblinds has been on the front burner with me, however I have come to a crossroad. I know from a good source that simular programs are now in the offing. So I'm going to take a step back and weigh the differences!

In what way do you want Yahoo Messanger skinned chichigirl? So far as I can see, WindowBlinds skins it just the same as any other app once you remove the exclusion for the app from your list. So what specifically doesn't get skinned?

You're obviously getting upset about something, but not telling us what it is.

I know to remove the "exclusion" in all wblinds v2.2 and under....... I'm talking about Wblinds v 3. and up..... there is NO exclusion anymore to remove for yahoo messenger, wblinds just won't skin it at all!!!!!!

Now I don't want to go explaining myself all over again, when frogboy is well aware of this problem.

chichigirl - open up wbdbg.ini in notepad and remove the section for messenger/pager (I don't remember exactly what it's titled in there as I cut it out a long time ago), save the file, load up Messenger and voila ! There you have it.
