is there anyway i can get thunderbird to clearly show that i have a new email waiting in my inbox. a number mark on the thunderbird icon maybe.
The only way that might be done is via a docklet. You would need to search the galleries to see if someone had created one.
Or you can try PopTray, it sits in your tray area, has many options and checks multiple email accounts and notifies you when you have an email. Been using it here for years.
