when i started the windowfx 5 beta, i hate the error below.
"The parameter is incorrect"
First time installation of WindowFX ? By that I mean have you installed any previous versions ?
also what version of Windows 7 such as ultimate, home premium, professional etc..
Yes first time. Windows 7 ultimate..
Did you install through Impulse/GameStop ?

I would recommend uninstalling, Use CCleaner to remove any excess entries left over. Restart your computer then install with administrator rights (Run as admin).

I have Win7 Home Premium and just installed the beta using "run as admin" and it works fine. In fact, this is one of the best stardock apps. I've set it to random animations and it's really cool to see the different effects it generates.
bachbeet: Did you have the same issue?
Zubaz: I had no issues whatsoever. I don't know if it was because I ran as admin from the start. I just know it's working great! I also like the fact that we can adjust the speed of the animations. And I love the start menu animations too. You guys really did a good job developing this.

I also have this problem.
Just good that I paid for this crapware over a month ago and still haven't been able to use it even once.
There should be a beta update this week which hopefully may address this.
Must note that DirectX10 is outdated and should be updated to DirectX 11.
Also your drivers are outdated. Current version is 296.10 WHQL

Update both DirectX and your graphics driver
