I watched the whole video and guess I'm just old with my thoughts. I think it would be wonderful for phones and touch pads. Unless I missed it because all the lady did was focus on the icons I didn't see a taskbar, startmenu, etc.

I have a fairly large monitor and for the heck of it touched the screen. I'm a regular size person but it put me way to close to the monitor with my eyes. However that wouldn't really matter as I'm not going around cleaning my screen all the time. On a OC I don't see any advantage touching the screen but can on the phones and tablets. How about a laptop? How many keys are you going to hit with your arm or albows touching the screen. It has it's place but not on the PC.

Again like I mentioned if it's not skinable I don't want it. Maybe some information from SD or skinners that have actually had 8 on their computers would be helpful as to wheather it is skinable.

There is windowblinds, tiles, fences, and and other SD programs that can do the job very well.I don't have much use for most of the apps some peo-ple use but if I did I would own a tablet that I could use in any room or take with me much easier than even using a laptop.

Well, DaveBax, my reaction was the same as yours.  I have a Windows 7 phone and I love it but I do not want all that on my PC.  My PC desktop is clutter free.  I have a programmable keyboard and I use my taskbar for the things I use daily.  I can easily live without a start menu but nowhere on that screen did I see a way to go out to the hard drives or the Control Panel.  The demo was all about "social connections" while my focus is productivity.  Touching photos to log on would not be acceptable security in a governement setting or even at home as kids learn fast.  It seems friendly but it's not for serious business.  Unless there is a way to hide all the clutter, I will be sticking with Windows 7.  I love skins and beautiful wallpapers, etc. so if Windows 8 cannot accommodate those, I don't need it.  I've used every single Windows OS ever released but unless there is a lot more development going on for desktop PCs, I will probably pass on this one.
