IE9 Tabs Totally Messed Up in Windows Vista and Skins Loading as Windows Classic Problem

1. I know the IE9 tabs issue has been reported to Stardock a while ago, but no one appears to be doing anything about it. On many WB skins (including the new Metro's) the IE9 tabs are corrupted or invisible. If you maximize the IE9 window you can see part of the tabs, but they are really messed up but they do function on click. If you set them to show in a separate row, they become completely invisible, even though when you hover over the area and click they function like they are there. Now I don't personally use IE9, but others do and this needs to be fixed. It does not occur on IE8.

2. Many of the Stardock skins that come with WB load as windows classic when applied, for instance virtually all of the Aero skins with the exception of Aero Executive load as classic, and the Wall skin loads as classic also.

I have latest nVidia drivers installed, as well as all the latest Stardock software applicable to these issues.

Could this have to do with the fact that the Java rendering for ie9 x64 is broken?

I've mentioned that a number of times, and that it would be better to install ie9 x32.

It might also have to do with hardware acceleration. How to turn it off:

Not likely, since my system (all my systems) are 32-bit and as previously reported, I have the problem too.

Same problem here with Vista Ultimate 64 bit. The only fix is a reboot which clears up the problem for a little while but it returns even if I don't switch blinds.

I have the tab problem but not the scrollbar issue and I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I just tried IE9 64 bit and that is not showing the tab corruption even though the 32 bit version is with the current blind. Maybe that's useful information.

I second this triple BUMP. It has been several months since I submitted a support ticket requesting help to resolve this problem with IE9. To this date there has been no resolution and very little communication from the 'powers that be'. I'm not overly pleased that I haven't been able to use Windowblinds since the first day I renewed my subscription for ObjectDesktop back on October 13 of last year.

This is still being investigated.

Windows Vista and Windows 7 share the same version of WindowBlinds so they should be reacting in the same way and yet apparently they are not.

It may be there is a difference in the IE9 implementation on that OS for some reason.

I would be interested to know how many folks that are having this issue also have TuneUp Utilities installed on their systems. A couple of years ago, I used to use TuneUp Utilities, as it also has a theme changing option as part of it's programming. Then I decided I would give WindowBlinds a try, as it had many more skins to choose from and was very customizable. But I began having a miriad of display issues and I just thought it was the WindowBlinds software that was either incompatible with my computer or was a major design flaw in the software. I struggled with display issues constantly. Then, in a casual conversation with one of the code writers for my company, they mentioned how the code in the TuneUp Utilities software actually hacks some of the Windows files and Registry settings to enable your computer to apply and display some of the Themes that are specific to the TU Utilities program. I started putting 2 and 2 together and decided to uninstall the TU Utilities software. The problems then seemed to be less severe, but I still experienced problems from time to time. But I learned from my programming friend that uninstalling the software does not fix all the problems because the operating system files had already been changed and are irrivocable even with an uninstall. The only fix was the "Nuclear" option. Complete wipe of the hard-drive and re-installation of the OS. I hated having to do this ,but I thought it would be worth it if it finally eliminated the source of my constant aggravation. I did all of this and never installed TU Utilities again...ever. Since then, I have never experienced anymore issues with my display that could not be corrected with the Windows settings on my computer. This may or may not resolve your problems, but I thought it my responsibility to at least share this experience with you all. Since then, I have found that there have been many ,many folks who have gone through major issues with their computers because of that particular piece of software. So take it for what it's worth, I'm just relaying some verified and documented information that I have dug up in the last couple of years. -- Ace --

@AceMatrix: Thanks for sharing your experience which you had due to TuneUp Utilities. Unfortunately, this does not apply in my case. I have never installed TU on this or any other PC I've owned.
