Some time ago, Google created a Desktop Sidebar to allow gadgets to be stationed there. And Microsoft added this same feature in Windows Vista. However, Microsoft decided not to include the Sidebar feature in Windows 7 (but still keeping the ability to have floating widgets). And recently Google decided to shutdown the Google Desktop as well.

I like very much the Sidebar feature, i.e. always having it's own space and being able to add gadgets there.

Is there an application developed by Stardock that does the same thing?
