Now that is something everyone takes for granted.... on two levels.
1: There are those who have greater freedoms than most, and who abuse them for a lack of respect and understanding... which then results in the freedoms of others - usually the weak and the innocent - being taken away.
2: Then there are those who take for granted that they have freedoms they do not, and then set about imposing those 'freedoms' on the rest of the world. It is one thing to be governed by laws of the land that actually protect and benefit the masses, but to be shaped and controlled by selfi-serving politicians, big business and other influential people with personal agendas, well that's another.
Sadly, there's 200 million plus people in the US who are oblivious to the fact that their freedom is merely a state of mind and all else is imagined. Thing is, people in Australia, the UK, Europe and elsewhere in the Western world are also under the same illusion - that they're free, when comparing themselves to the masses in China and the Middle East, etc - when in actual fact they are restricted by borders and boundaries, political bickering and powerful business leaders who have visions of grandeur and designs of their own....
And then there's religion, and the agenda driven restrictions and controls that has imposed on the people of the world over the centuries. Talk about evil!
I think John Lennon put it best....
... and then he was assassinated for his beliefs. [e digicons]:'([/e]
