Hallo thar.
So I'm nearing the end of my full-customization of my computers appearance (and functions, due to thinks like desktopX). I just changed my hibernation screen text and pictures (instructions are here) and it should be possible to change the initial image on boot and even the logo on POST screen though I doubt I'll get around to doing that.
However, something else explained on my above link is the "resuming windows" screen, that shows only text and a progress bar. Judging from the replies to that topic and another one on the same website, that procedure of using a hex editor on ntldr IS correct and DOES work.
but not on SP3. For me, that 00035990 line / offset has random characters, and someone else did say they also could not find it at that location.
Does anyone know how to do this on XP SP3?
PS: For any future people googling this stuff that might run into this (as well as myself if I decide to do it), do also post about Windows 7 if you have the answer or a link handy. But I only really care about XP SP3; that's the PC I'm customizing.
