All my docks disappear installing IE9

hi all

I just  installed with windows update IE9 on my PC with 7 x64. I'm using OD2 since was in beta with no problem and I have 4 different dock (with flyout, link, Weather and so on) and 1 tabbed dock (really big: 15 tabs). All perfectly working untill now. After the the restart by the OS for the IE 9 setup, the only tab working is the tabbed one. No idea about all the other.

Do you know what I can try to do? Or the only way is to take the restore point and erase IE 9?

lio, is the zoomer actually enabled in your OD settings? Please look.

Same thing happened to me....lost the zoomer...but still had the tabbed.

I just set up the zoomer dock again.

IE9 install was just a little too pushy....

BTW...same OS.

I'm running the same set up and that didn't happen here.  Check what Doc suggested.  If they are, click on one of the zoomer docks and look in the lower left hand corner, there should be two icons one to hide and one to remove.   See if the zoomer docks are hidden.

Thanks for the reply, I was wrinting in the Microsoft technet and in the Seven forum

If I open my OD settings, I can see as existing only a dokc (with 15 tabs) and that dock is without any applet or java or anything else.

I cannot see (Or I'm not able to do ) if the zoomer is on, for sure in my other docks I had the zoomer on.

I have now tried 2 different solution but without any positive result. The first way to solve I tried, it was the System Restore and I tried in 2 different restore point: the first one before IE 9 and the second 2 days ago. In both situation after the reboot I have this advice:

System restore did not compete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed.
Details: System restore failed to replace the file (C:\Windows) with its  original copy from the restore point. 
An unspecified error occurred  during System restore (0x80071a90) 
You can try System Restore again and  choose a different restore point.
If you continue to see this error, you  can try an advanced recovery method.

 So I tried to uninstall IE 9 through Control panel and the specific uninstaller, I did the reboot and .... same situation.
At that point I decided to use newly System restore and I tried in 2 different restore point: same situation than before.
So now I have no idea ..... What can I try?
Overall I think the big problem is about system Restore, if for any serious problem I need to use it, at the moment seems to be impossible.
Please any help will be greatly appreciated.

Same thing happend to me. After installing this crap my docks were gone. it was never my favorite browser but i wanted to try it - it sucks!

I'd bet the problem lies with ie9 x64's crappy Java script/engine. ie9 x32's is quite the opposite.

You have rolled it back, so not much else to do. You should be able to see whether your zoomer is enabled. If not, I'd check to see if you have the latest version of Java.

Since I reinstalled Win7 its back to IE8 and its stayin' that way. Yahoo suggested I update to IE9. I replied a snowball in hells got a better chance. I didn't use those exact words though but its close. lol

I cannot go back

System Restore is not able to do. I only did an uninstall for IE 9 but this not solve the problem. So I cannot see for the zoomer, but I'm pretty sure that the zoomer is enabled.

I have Jave 6.21 ((build 1.6.0_21-b07).

It's really incredible: every time there is a major update, something goes wrong

When it comes to ie9 x64, "Just say no."

Check to see if your Java is the latest.

Why can't you do a restore to an earlier date? Maybe you should 1) open elevated command prompt and do  sfc /scannow

If all is ok there, open Impulse, choose Object Dock +2, shift+right click and choose "Verify Installation". You might have to update it.

Post the results when you do the above.

I presume you're trying to go back to IE8, if so, you need to open up your Windows Update, click on "View Update History", then find IE9 and delete/remove it, then restart and you should be back to IE8. This is exactly what I did after my graphics became extremely buggy with IE9.

Hello, I'm back
I solved by myself in a really messy way, but now I have Object Dock working. I've still to see about the restore point, but unfortunately I think that problem is different and probably only casually present in the same moment than the OD crashed.
I've used an old OD backup and integrated that backup with the only part still working. A little bit of change to match all in notepad (opening the file .ini) and after a couple of attempt, now it's all OK. Obviously I've totally uninstalled IE9 and now is an hidden update. I would like to understand the problem, maybe the first boot after IE9 installation, when OD started, there was a problem with something and a new CurrentTheme.ini and CurrentTheme_Backup.ini files have created by the program and after it was impossible to have the previous situation though I had deleted IE9.

I have now to see for the System Restore.
