Neil, I'm really enjoying Tiles, but one thing that would make it perfect would be if programs could be moved up or down on the page so that they could be alphabetical or in groups.

Any chance of that happening in an update?

I've noticed something and reproduced it on my desktop and laptop but it's not consistent and I can't figure out what the trigger is......

Using Aero and setting the skin to match and having it on autohide, I sometimes lose the Systray button if I uncheck autohide. In the case of my laptop it completely disappears and on my desktop I can see it behind the shortcut icons on the bottom. If there's no shortcuts at the bottom it doesn't seem to happen or it "fixes" itself as I tab through pages.

Laptop is W7x64 Pro SP1

Desktop is W7x64 Home SP1

This may or may not have been mentioned by others, but I have noted the following:

If you set Tiles to load automatically at startup and also use Tiles to suppress the Win7 taskbar, the taskbar is not completely suppressed. Rather it goes into Autohide mode, causing it to reappear whenever I cursor over the icons in my ObjectDock dock (docked to the bottom of the screen).

I have resolved this by using ObjectDock to suppress the taskbar.

Also, I have noticed that unless you select the option to have Tiles launch automatically at startup, Tiles does not include any power options (Shutdown, etc.) and it is necessary either to access the Shutdown button directly through Win7, or put a docklet into ObjectDock.

I assume that the conflict with the taskbar will be resolved eventually, but I would like to see power options available in Tiles whether the program is loaded automatically or manually.

All in all, though, I am really enjoying the program. I can place it to the side of my second screen, get rid of the taskbar, and free up real estate on my first screen. I still haven't figured out what the filter function really does, but as I am not a power user, it may not be all that relevant.

When Tiles is set to hide the taskbar the taskbar should remain invisible as the taskbar is not simply being set into autohide.  I would advise against using the ObjectDock method to hide the taskbar as this is incompatible with the correct functioning of a number of system tray icons on Windows 7.

Do you have any other applications running which may do anything to the taskbar?

The power options are not linked to how the application starts, but to the hide taskbar option.  Unless that is set in Tiles the menu will not show.

win7 x64 multimonitor setting. When selecting Left/Rightside of monitor and adding/removing monitors it can happen Tiles latches on to the left/rightside of the  first/second/third..... monitor resulting that Tiles is in the center of the desktop neither at the right of the one nor left of the other. If Tiles  is in autohide mode there's no way that it unhides

Second, even in Tiny setting it takes a lot of real estate. A scaling slider would be nice instead of a preset.

I'll try at a lower polling rate and see if it helps and let you know.

Seems solid now with the lower polling rate.

Slight clash with Steam version of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic.  Whilst starting KOTOR it keeps being pulled back to the desktop, KOTOR is still running in the background and can be brought to the front briefly by Alt-Tabbing but it will quickly switch back again.

Tiles seems like it will be useful but it would be appreciated if the contextual menus could always appear in front of the tile window. I'm on XP SP3.

Minor issue: if System Tray icons are enabled, a Tile occasionally displays behind them.  it appears and disappears intermittently.

Ok, my system is win7 ultimate(x64) in japanese language.

Last time I put a shortcut for "my document" in (which is using japanese words), it crashed.

Now my Tiles keep crashing every time when I launch it.

And no matter how many times i reinstall it, uninstall it , it still keep the last settings (the one which makes it crash)

Which means when you uninstall Tiles, something's still left in your computer...

Here's my suggestion:

1） give a alternative option of "delete existing settings" when you uninstall it... 

2)   work on multi-language support guys...

First let me say that I have downloaded the "free" version of Tiles and I have to say that the concept is a good one, it's been quite a while since someone has come up with software that is actually usefull and not just a ripoff of someone elses idea, with that being said ..............
 
It really bothers me when a company advertises their software as free when it is really not, such as Stardocks software, your "free" version of Tiles just like most of the other "free" versions of your software and is VERY LIMITED on configuration or just not configurable at all, which is why there is absolutely no Stardock software on my system and after I finish writing this Tiles will be removed also, even though the concept is intriguing your "free" version is too limited for me to see what it ACTUALLY will do. If you want me to purchase something then give me something in return, don't just tell me something is free then give me the "bare bones" and expect me to come running with cash in my hands.
 
When you say free, in my mind that means 100%, no bs, no strings attached for the full blown version of the software, otherwise if I have to pay for it or any portion thereof then it's called "SHAREWARE", so lets call a spade a spade here and what Tiles is .......shareware, not freeware, shareware.
 
This is the reason why those of us in the skinning and Windows customization community would never recommend anything Stardock to anyone because there are always strings attached to your downloads.
