Animated BMP/PNG - Sequenced, How?!

This _may_ be a really stupid question, but:

I'm interested in making my own, proper animated objects. I can probably manage the graphics one way or another, but how can I get them all neatly lined up in one large file? And can this file be of PNG format? (I prefer that for transparency.) Thanks for any help

If I recall, there's a prog that does this, called BitStrip or BitStream or something like that.
Someone here should have the URL.

I think BitStrip only does .bmp, Jumbles is hosting it (if I'm not mistaken).

there is a fantastic utility at http://www.ricciosoft.com called aniutil which stitches together PNG's/BMP's specifically designed for DesktopX and CursorEx. it will automatically trim PNG's to the optimum size before stitching.

A couple of things to mention. You need to make sure all images are the same size or they won't look right (not even sure if it'll stitch them in that case).

Also make sure they are numbered sequentially. ie image01, image02, image03 (must have leading zero's). I actually wrote a utility to take a load of files and copy them to files numbered sequentially with leading zeros for my own use so I could be lazy and just save them as i1, i2 etc.

Thanks for the links. I understand that 3dsMax can produce a sequence of regular-sized images with leading zeroes from an animation. I will mess around with stuff

berzerka, DesktopX doesn't support animated GIFs.
