we should remeber to rate skins.

I cant help but notice that people aren’t rating the newer skins, I am guilty as anybody else, but I think that is important to let people know how they are doing, and it is a quick way to give feedback to authors, anonymously . I know I appreciate the current rating system, and would like to see it used more.

Actually, what you said is sadly true... A lot of people use the ratings as a quick way to give feedback. Comments is still the best.

I totally agree. I personally can't rate skins (bummer) but I do try to leave comments simply because I love it when others leave comments on my stuff. I know there have been many threads concerning this, but they haven't really helped the situation... I will try to comment more whenever I drop by the site, and if i ever get important enough I will definitely rate skins too

btw - is there a way for me (just an ordinary citizen) to view my skin ratings?

This has been an ongoing debate for years. Sadly, it will never be as we want it. However, in case I forgot elsewhere... Paul... your stuff rocks! *sigh* and I wish I wasn't into five other projects because I would JUMP at the chance to work with you again.

MooShoo - I would think you can still use the "y Skins" menu to do such.

Unfortunatly not, but I can tell you your ratings:
Mobility: 8 (1 person rated it)
Cobalt: 5 (1 person rated it)
Alkaline: 5 (1 person rated it)
Suphindricle: 8 (2 persons rated it)
Etched Enclosure: 7 (1 person rated it)
Pixel ET: 4 (1 person rated it)

Given the little number of people rating, I wouldn't give any importance to the meaning of those numbers. Cheers!

Berzerka, here's the info you requested. I feel some of them were under-rated but some people can be really critical about wallpaper.

Yea, ain't it the truth! Some of my most downloaded items have pretty low ratings. I take em with a grain of salt just like movie ratings. I always seem to like the movies that get the worst ratings by the critics.

click the "about" link in the upper right of the page and then scroll down to "WinCustomize User Classes" It's a bit out of date, but it still gives a general explination.

I wouldn't worry too much about the ratings either. Like DaWebMassa said a lot of times the peer rating and the number of people who like the skin are totally different.

Sir MooShoo? Somehow I think "Samauri MooShoo" is more fitting.

All in all, don't take the ratings to heart. I think it all depends on the mood of whoever is reviewing the material when it's uploaded. They're human and it would seem that sometimes they just have a bad day.

Yes, it's important the rating. But i have this observation: by deffault, at wincustomize, don't appears skins rating -3. Also, i uploaded some wallpapers (not very nice, but usefuls) rated at today 1 or 2; when are uploadeds, their rating are 0 and 1 at this wallp. This is normal? i don't know. It's a chance i don't like this wallp heheheh.
Also, the people are rated very high some of my objects, that really aren't beautiful or useful objects (ex. c-my computer). ANd others, more best than this, are rated as poor.
It's a way to know the useful of a icon-skin-object, the rating, but i think the people don't do this
