Only Lunar Eclipse of 2010 Takes Place Tonight

Lunar Eclipse Coincides With Winter Solstice

Barring cloudy weather, astronomy enthusiasts and sky gazers across North America will be treated to the only lunar eclipse of the year tonight.

The eclipse will be visible Monday night on the West Coast and during the early hours Tuesday on the East Coast.

On the east coast you should start seeing this around 1:33AM and is expected to last 3 1/2 hours.

Just hope the clouds stay away this time. There's supposed to be a meteor shower to boot. The Ursids according to NASA. They said they're gonna stream it from their site in Alabama.

Didn't see anything. By that time in the a.m. the moon was out of view where I am. Plus clouds did get in the way. Bummer.
