WindowFX 4 is very limited in what in can do on a computer running XP unlike WindowFX 3. For example, there are no animations (leaving not much else to deal with). Are there future plans to make WindowFX 4 a little more XP-friendly?
WindowFX4 has less features that WindowFX3 on XP because we wanted to target the application towards the future. Implementing those on XP took a great deal of effort and the design of WindowFX4 does not fit well with how they were implemented in WFX3, plus anyone who wanted those features could simply use WindowFX3 anyway as the two can be installed side by side.
Add in the fact that the XP user base is constantly shrinking while the Windows 7 user base is growing and you can see why we made the decisions we did. By doing this we were also able to keep the price of the product down to $9.95 rather than the usual $19.95.
Thats not to say it does not offer things on XP. Apart from the animations and momentum dragging which require the DWM (which XP lacks) and a blur option, the rest of the feature set is available on XP.
