I hate that too. suggestion; get a bigger monitor, it helps.
Sorry gmc2, not following this, I have a 24 inch monitor and the side and bottom window frames are off screen, as they should be, when a window is maxed.
I think he means "buy a larger monitor so you don't HAVE to view any maximized windows". 
But I agree most of the borders should not be visible. There's really no need for them in maximized mode and it gets them out of the way so the window itself takes up more of the screen.
If Windowblinds (and windows, as it were), did show full per pixel borders in maximized window mode, I'm sure there would be plenty of people with smaller screens hating it because the larger borders would be, in essence, killing what little space they have on their screens.
In this case, I think you're the exception to the rule, neophil.
