windowblinds causes ie9 to stop working according to the action center.

I tried per application in windowblind settings to not skin ie9, but it still crashes.

I tried per application in windowblind settings to not skin ie9, but it still crashes.

IE9 is a just-out beta...so there is going to be a bit of 'chase up' involved.

I expect that if IE is still crashing with the exclusion set...there's some component of the EI proggy still not 'excluded'...either that or some horrid tie-in with another process [like explorer.exe].

Neil will be sure to catch up with this...but please provide specifics...OS ver [eg 32/64] etc will be essential...

I'm installing now [7/64]....though I've unloaded WB first....

Well...unloading first didn't help....once you restart WB IE will crash...

My experience as well.  Came over here to see if anyone else had discovered the same thing and sadly, they had.

I did run IE for a while with WB turned off and to be honest, there's nothing there that will take me away from Firefox anyway.

The next WB update will resolve this issue that happens with some skins and also add in support for some new IE sections (IE9 has some 'special' limitations)

IE9 is different from the other versions of IE and uses glass under the tabs and hides all other toolbars unless manually enabled.  So out of the box there is no large grey toolbar area.

We will be looking into if we can add support for the new next / back buttons as well as the new icons but that will be something to look at in the future rather than this week.  The tabs themselves are probably hardcoded in IE again, but this time they have an alpha channel so they do at least try to blend in against the background below them.

Thanks for the update everyone. Just put IE9 Beta on Win 7 32 and down it went. I love the "Bye bye IE 9" cause that's what's happening here. IE never has and looks like never will be my browser of choice. Windows Blinds on the other hand ...

Well, I do prefer IE, but 9 isn't ready....it is, after all, a beta.

Ok, using IE9 for this POST. I disabled Windows Blinds service and renamed wblind.dll to wblind.old. Having a hard time typing this. In order to start typing I had to change the font - several times actually. It sort of stops allowing me to type until I change the font. Anyway, this allows me to test a bit of IE9. I put the stuff back when I'm done testing. Should be soon! Wouldn't let me put in any smilies for example in this post.  ... Michael

Have the problems with IE 9 and WB been resolved?
