I am sure that I am a minority, being a programmer for 15 years and actually writing something for the world to see...
BUT...
I have experienced just one too many anomalies with the Stardock Central application suite to keep my mouth shut.
Maybe its just me, but, when someone decides to change STANDARD WINDOWS OBJECT FUNCTIONALITY, I get more than a little upset.
If you would like to have a checkbox like thingy, that doesn't act like a CHECKBOX, don't make it look like a CHECKBOX.
If you tell me that I have two versions of a program (ie:SkinStudio Standard, Skinstudio Professional), and even list them as having different version numbers and yet the only version found on the system (that is version number as reported by the .exe file Version information) does not match either of the version numbers shown for the pair (standard and professional)...and when you run either, the same app runs, and when you uninstall (standard)...
YOU HAVE NEITHER.
It was very disconcerting a few weeks ago when Stardock decided to unleash a rogue application on the defenseless world, Icon Developer, and us poor lowly slob users unknowingly installed it (granted Beta does mean go on take a chance you fool) thinking that it could be usefull, NOT KNOWING that we would be giving up our beloved SkinStudio.
I actually could spend the next few hours listing the anomalies (you changed the image file yet nothing happened on update, but it does look different in the preview...oh yeah I have to "wipe" those childhood memories clean).
