The final results for the final regular event of the GUI Olympics is now in: The best overall WindowBlinds visual style.

This was a tough one for the judges to pick because, after all, what exactly is "the best"? It depends on why you are skinning in the first place. As one of the judges put it, "For me, it is the complete experience. It's not necessarily about the skin I'm going to use forever, we already had events covering those areas. It's about what skin does it all. What skin shows off what skinning is all about."

Different judges had different philosophies that they brought to the contest. And unlike other events there was no precise idea what the winning entry should have (or not have).

Still, hopefully both users and skinners alike will be able to appreciate the care taken in the judging and recognize why these skins won out.

That said, we do expect to announce a few bonus events this week to honor some of the skin authors and skins that had excellent entries but didn't quite fit any of the official events.

So as we near the end of the 2nd GUI Olympics (and technically last, the next one would be called the GUI Championships) we hope you've enjoyed your time. We'll be finishing things up this week with the overall winners (Based on medal counts) and honorary awards.
