Impulse encountered an error and must shutdown

won't run and won't uninstall

Windows 7 x64

Impulse last updated on 5-17.....now when I try to run it I get "Impulse encountered and error and must shutdown" so I try to uninstall from the Control Panel and nothing happens.......reboot still nothing......run ccleaner same-same........Installed "Full setup" over existing install same-same.......I'm out of ideas...........

I noticed that I had Cursor FX Plus and Cursor FX showing in Control Panel and uninstalled Cursor FX.....I wonder if that might have borked something?

 

Since 5-17 I had a Windows 7 update KB981793

I also installed Corpscon6

and I installed Videostudio Pro X2.......I've also uninstalled Quicktime that it put on my system.

It may be too late but have you tried restoring your system to before the update?

If it works after the restore you might have a better chance of fixing it by uninstalling Impulse and then installing the newest version of it.

Get to a command prompt and run sfc /scannow to see if your system files are ok. You have a lot of font errors there and I wonder if one of the recently installed programs has overwritten something.

Thanks guys......scannow found system file issues but I still couldn't get Impulse to run afterward so I uninstalled the Videostudio X2 program(s) and then I ended up doing a System Restore back to just before the Windows updates from 5-24 and all's well.......I'm thinking it was the Corel software but I'm not 100% sure.
