I have a program that can define (by SystemParametersInfo) the Windows desktop work area. I knew that this wasn't a standard way to allocate space within the desktop, anyway, the screen is too wide these days for non-movies.
I customized the work area to leave some edge space intended for desktop icons.
The Fences cut the icons outside the customized work area, the translucent band holding the icons was showing, though.
I'm not sure if this (the cut off of icons) is a limitation of the techniques, or a feature of Fences. If I have the option to see those icons outside the work area then I can make use of the desktop space more efficiently.
