Error: Could not access network location "\Stardock\CursorFX\Themes\

Before you ask, I've read all posts on this.

Hi, all.

I'm having a bit of trouble installing CursorFX and SkinStudio 7. When I run either installer, they give me the error "Could not access network location '\ Stardock \ CursorFX \ Themes'". I've never had either of them installed, because they don't install.

Here's some details on my computer and such:

Windows XP SP3
My computer's Local Disk is the I: drive, not C:.
I've read the other posts on this, and the majority of them say "Go to '\ Documents and Settings \ All Users \ Documents \ Stardock \ CursorFX \ Themes' and create the folders" or whatever. I've gone to that location and saw no Documents folder. When I tried to create it, it didn't work because it said there was already a Documents folder in that location, but I have all "hide folders" options turned off. There is absolutely NO Documents folder in there, but I still can't create a folder called "Documents".
There is a "Shared Documents" folder, could Windows be thinking that's it?
I've even had to reinstall Windows once, due to hard drive errors, but a new Windows install didn't help.

I've also Googled this problem multiple times, and have come up with the same answer in every article I viewed.

Is there a way to install the free versions of these two pieces of software from Impulse?

Themes are saved in:

%homedrive%\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\CursorFX\Themes

However, in an explorer window this will show up as Shared Documents. To go right to that directory, copy and paste the whole path above into a run window via Start -> Run. If the path exists, then follow this link in Internet Explorer:

http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/stardock_access.bat

save the file, right click it and select "Run as Administrator" if you're on Vista/Windows 7, just run it if you're on XP. This may solve your issue.

Thanks for replying, Dewie. So I've seen that that location does exist, and I've run that file twice now, but it hasn't done anything. I still get the error. Perhaps the installer doesn't like the fact that my home directory is on the I: drive instead of C:?

I've even tried "subst c: i:\" and it didn't do anything.

Maybe I should just give up the search.
