Your Internet line at home is a phone line lou, so in essence you are paying a 'phone bill' at home....you can voice call with your IM...
I favor simple phones ... but I have a Treo because I have Epocrates on it and it is really good software for my profession. Were it not for that, I'd go with the simplest phone available....with the best audio quality. Seems like the 'smart' phones have poorer audio quality.
